Parks with Children's Playgrounds in SW Portland/Tigard

Being new to Portland and the Tigard area means finding all new places to take my 2 1/2 year old daughter to play each day. So far, after being here for about 3 weeks, I have found some of the closer parks and play areas. The following is a brief description of a few that I have found so far. 1. Metzger Park: Nice sized park with a grass field and a large play structure with a bouncy bridge and 2 slides. There is also a smaller area with caterpillar climbing area and baby swings. There is also a small spinning merry-go-round thing (no horses). There are also swings for older kids on the other side of the field. 2. Westlake Park: Very nice neighborhood with a large soccer field and 3 baseball fields. The play area has 3 main play structures with a slide on each, one of which is a twisty one, along with some tire swings. The play area is shaded, which is very nice. I haven't been during the rain, so I'm not sure how well the shelter blocks rain. 3. Dickenson Park: Very new and unique play structure with a very unique slide. There is also a smaller play structure with more conventional fun for the smaller kids. There are 2 benches, but the rest of the park is just a grassy hill. However the view from this park is quite beautiful, as it is on top of a hill. 4. Gabriel Park: Easily the largest park of the 4 I have visited so far, although the play area is relatively small. The play structure is older, but has plenty of fun along with some tire swings. There is also a smaller play structure for smaller kids. There are fields and fields of grass and I have heard there are 2 dog parks as well, which I have not explored yet. I certainly plan to explore more and will share my experiences at a later date.

This is only a small sample of the parks closest to me that I have explored. There are many more within a few mile radius which I plan to visit in the coming weeks.
